Released upon a dark morning, feeling powerless, in the hope that despite the terrible times we live in, there are still millions working together for a better world.

A sizeable percentage of the population in Britain – and England in particular – has looked at the unforgiveable levels of inequality in this country and decided that the gap should be widened, the ladder should be pulled up further, and the few remaining safety nets for the most vulnerable in our society should be cut away.

I've released this to to try and raise some funds for some of those who currently need it most. It's not much, but it's what I've got. A Burden Equal to Our Strength was written and recorded between 2018-19 and I was keeping it back for a future Petrels release as it was too long to fit on The Dusk Loom but I've decided to put it out now to try and do something to counter my current feelings of hopelessness because they do no good to anybody. It's going to be a long fight ahead. It always is.

All proceeds from this release will go to The Trussell Trust - www.trusselltrust.org/what-we-do/ - who do invaluable and sadly necessary work helping the millions currently living in poverty in this country.
